Onboarding openclaw connected through telegram

Problem – Telegram bot sent me as follow messages :
⚠️ Your model provider needs a new login. Send /login from a private chat or Control UI session. Where shown, you can also select Sign in. You can also re-auth with claude auth login && openclaw models auth login –provider anthropic –method cli on the gateway.

No chat owner is configured. Ask the OpenClaw owner to add your chat account to commands.ownerAllowFrom in the OpenClaw configuration, then send /login again.

Solve

Re-authenticate via the Gateway Terminal

Because the OpenClaw gateway runs under the dedicated system user claw, you must switch to the claw user to update its credentials:

1. In your server terminal, switch to the claw user:
   sudo -u claw -i
2. Run the authentication commands:
   claude auth login
   openclaw models auth login –provider anthropic –method cli
3. Complete the interactive browser / OAuth flow.
4. (Optional) If the gateway does not pick up the session automatically, restart the service from your sudo account:
   sudo systemctl restart openclaw-gateway
